Together we have 100 years of combined experience working with children in various settings including public and private kinders and schools, specialist schools, specialist teams and university speech clinics.
Practice Principal, is a Certified Practicing Speech Pathologist who has worked as a Clinical Educator at Universities in South Africa and Australia. She has more than 30 years of clinical experience with children of all ages who have communication challenges including Autism Spectrum Disorders, speech sound disorders, childhood apraxia of speech (CAS), pragmatics, language disorders, fluency and auditory processing disorders. Felicia remains passionate and committed to supporting a child’s communication development in the context of his/her family, educational setting and working with associated team members. Felicia’s special interests include social skills groups, Autism Spectrum Disorders in girls and Fragile X Syndrome. She has further training in Auditory Integration Training (Bérard), Floortime, ABA, the Lidcombe Program, Secret Agent Society, Social Thinking and the Lindamood Program. Felicia especially enjoys delivering ‘early early’ intervention to babies and toddlers. She has a Masters degree in Education
Certified Practicing Speech Pathologist & Practice Principal of Speech4Kids is an experienced therapist with a wide range of interests. Areas of expertise include: language, auditory processing, articulation, social skills and Autism Spectrum Disorders. Lara has worked in a variety of settings including Private Practice, the Catholic Education System, early intervention and a specialist school in the UK. Lara brings particular enthusiasm and experience in working with school aged children. She enjoys working as part of a collaborative team including parents, teachers, specialist support staff and multidisciplinary medical and allied health professionals. In this environment she works in optimizing students’ language, literacy and social skills.
Christine has been working more than 10 years in a variety of roles to support communication development in Canada and Australia. She is a Certified Practicing Speech Pathologist with additional training in fluency, voice, literacy, and developmental language. Christine is passionate in her role to help children communicate while providing fun and relaxed speech therapy in collaboration with family, educators, and other health professionals. Christine enjoys all areas of speech therapy with particular interest in articulation and fluency. In her spare time she enjoys the outdoors and spending time with her family.
Belinda is a Certified Practicing Speech Pathologist who enjoys working in educational settings with special school, primary and secondary students. Her special interests include language and speech difficulties. Belinda continues to find great satisfaction in working to help students access the curriculum, and to achieve their potential.
Oi Yi is a Certified Practicing Speech Pathologist with over 10 years’ experience working in the UK and Australia. She has completed her MSc in Speech and Language Therapy in the UK and worked in a variety of settings supporting children with complex communication and special needs. She has completed a wide range of specialist training including the use of Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) including Talking Mats, Nuffield Dyspraxia Programme, Lidcombe Therapy for stuttering, PECS, and paediatric dysphagia. Oi Yi enjoys working together with children, their families, schools and allied health professionals to maximise the therapy outcome of each individual. Oi Yi speaks English and Cantonese fluently.
Andrea is a Certified Practicing Speech Pathologist and has worked with children in Western Australia in the areas of language, literacy, articulation, stuttering and voice. She has worked in private practice, non-for-profit organizations, schools and hospital settings. Andrea is particularly interested in working with young children to improve their comprehension, expressive language, literacy and articulation skills. She is a PROMPT, Lidcombe Program and Sounds-Write (literacy) trained therapist. Andrea has also had additional training in Positive Behaviour Support for children with Autism. Her approach to therapy is structured, family-centred, collaborative and evidence-based. She is committed to helping families and children reach their goals. In her spare time, she enjoys long scenic walks with her dog and spending time with her family.
Terry is a Certified Practicing Speech Pathologist with a special interest in auditory processing disorders. She has worked mainly in schools and private practice. Terry was the recipient of the AB Clemons Award for her Undergraduate Research Report in her final year of study. For the past 30 years Terry has worked in South Africa, New Zealand and Australia. Her areas of interest include speech sound disorders, auditory processing, language and literacy.
Amy is a Certified Practicing Speech Pathologist. Amy is passionate about working with children and their families to support speech, language and communication skills. She has worked in clinic and education settings across Ireland and Australia.
Doreen Freeman and Lauren Kessel are the friendly faces that greet you at reception and the friendly voices answering the Speech4kids phone. Doreen is our Practice Manager who brings her many years of book-keeping expertise to the financial tasks inherent in running a small business. Lauren specializes in taking the chaos out of the busy Speech4kids office, running errands and putting her organizational skills to work by assisting staff and clients. Doreen and Lauren are an integral part of the Speech4Kids team.
